Our company was born in Italy, where our first brands come from, as well as our founding partner, Alessandro Poma-Murialdo. More than 50 years ago, in 1970, don Alessandro attempted to convey his passion for wine and gastronomy to Costa Rica, so he started with small imports sold mainly to his friends and acquaintances from his home.
In 1990, his son, Pietro Poma-Murialdo, Sales Manager, took the reins of the company and multiplied the brands and imported more from other parts of the world, inspired by Costa Rican taste, expanding sales to different distribution channels.
In 2014, Sofía Poma-Murialdo joined the company as the third generation of the family, and created Bottega, a place to share the passion for food and wine. It has a wine gallery, a Mercato area where you can find a wide selection of gastronomic products for direct sales, and a kitchen with a chef and sommelier for all kinds of events and enogastronomic celebrations.
Today, our company and all its members form a big family with roots nourished in Costa Rica, although they were born in Italy. We believe enogastronomy feeds our souls, so we learn about it to teach others on a daily basis.
